Biography
Prof. Femi Akinbola is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at MIVA Open University and a management consultant with a PhD in Business Administration. He served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Global Entrepreneurship Research and Innovation Centre of the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (GERIC-UMK). He conducted bankable research on commercial policy intervention and the employability of multinational corporations in newly industrialised states. He has also conducted award-winning research and developed business cases on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Family Businesses, International Business, and Multinational Corporations, attracting both local and international grants.
He consults for reputable organisations, SMEs, and start-ups on scaling and internationalisation. Prof. Akinbola has published 80 papers in reputable journals with over 550 citations. He contributes to public and private sector dialogue through advocacy in Africa and globally. He is the Group Thematic/Policy Lead of Business Environment and Regulations for the MSMEs Community of Practice at the NESG. He is also a member of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and the Academy of International Business (AIB), USA. He has featured on Channels TV and CNBC Africa for business and economic discourse.
